Saturday August 19. Dad went to England and all Mom did was take pictures at of Alex at home. Grannie came over for a visit and Alex had his first trip to Lowe's. Other activities of the day included a bath, napping, trying out his Bumbo seat from Andrea Duquette, and of course drooling. See Alex blow bubbles AND drool at the same time. Saturday August 12 afternoon and evening. A visit to Grannie and Nagypapa in Kensington. The weather was so nice we sat out on the porch. Then we went to Laurel, Maureen and John had a gathering for Kathleen who was in town. Good times and good friends, and really yummy food. Spencer and Mitchell entertained us by skateboarding, and Natalie loved the monkey cup Maureen had. Saturday August 12 morning. Saturday morning, watching soccer, and a bath. Also, Alex wants to give a big shout out to Beck Oldridge who turned 2 today! August 11 pictures. A visit from Auntie Shaz! Alex entertained us by smiling, drooling, being chubby baby. Saturday August 5. A typical relaxing Saturday. Bath time, then Alex hung out, and we went and got an activity saucer from Buy Buy Baby with cousin Marjorie's gift certificate. Saturday July 29. A few costume changes due to drooling, and just being a baby. Alex is almost too big for his baby bathtub in the sink - how can that be? Cousin Phyllis gave him the striped Polo outfit, and Maureen gave him the cute "This Little Piggy" outfit. July 28 pictures. July 22 and July 23 . We went to visit GJ and Poppie for the weekend. Alex had a very good time, he smiled and giggled and slept and really enjoyed the visit. July 21 pictures. Alex had a good day at daycare, he went on a field trip to the park. July 19 pictures. JD's Birthday! Grannie came over to help with Alex and visit while JD was in NY for the day. Alex had a lot of smiles, and took a 3 hour nap! July 16 and 17 pictures. Alex was 3 months old on Sunday July 16, if you count the weeks, even though he was born on April 23rd. I was in Baltimore at a work meeting for two days, so JD held down the fort. Alex is completely recovered from his weekend illness and is holding his head up on his own a lot this week. And still sucking his fists!

Sat July 15. Alex wasn't feeling well, probably fighting some of those new germs he came into contact with at daycare. He slept most of the day and wasn't his usual, smiling self. =( July 14 pictures. Just a few poses. Bastille Day, but alas, Alex had no beret to wear. We all survived and adjusted to our new routine during a big week of going back to work, and Alex's first week of daycare. Now it's time to enjoy the weekend. July 13 pictures. July 8 pictures. Another bath, hair like Alfalfa (bad parents), sleeping, hanging with Blue Dog, holding head up. Alex also saw his first fireworks, for Alexandria's 257th birthday last night. Alex just can't stop attending parties, but this was the biggest one yet. A big birthday bash at Barb and Bob's - chicken 'n biscuits, line dancing, moon bounce, and a big sleepover. Lunch at Granny and Nagypapa's. Alex smiled, hung out, and napped. Then we went to visit Val at her new condo. Later, Alex attended another party at our neighbor Chad's where he charmed the girlies, then fell asleep as music was playing, and went home and slept 7 hours! June 30 two month check-up. Alex weighs 13 lbs 4 oz (75-90th percentile), and is 24 1/2 inches long (95th percentile). He got 4 shots ("He's gotta have his dip-tet") and was pretty fussy but came out of it by Saturday. A good time was had by all, especially Alex, who stayed awake most of the day and enjoyed the party. Bath time again

June 2 pictures Lunch at Generous George's, visiting with Duncan. June 1 pictures Alex is getting bigger, he doesn't need the newborn headrest for his car seat anymore. May 30 pictures Hot again (92 degrees) so Alex stayed inside and practiced holding his head up some more. Memorial Day pictures Went over to the Cahoon's and hung out. Spencer, Mitchell and Natalie (and JD) did the Slip 'N Slide it was so hot (90 degrees!). Alex relaxed on the table. May 28 pictures More from Sunday. Went to the Okrend's to visit, meet Anita, and Sara, Bryan and Jeffrey who were visiting from NJ. Dinner at Macaroni Grill, then quick stop at Granny and Nagypapa's to wish Granny a Happy Birthday (May 29). First bath pictures Alex is 5 weeks old, about time he got clean. He loved his first bath, and the robe that Beulah gave him. Alex did his best Howard Hughes impression in it.

Old Town, lunch at Chadwick's, Carlyle House garden, Tyson's Corner, thai food for dinner - Alex was very good, but we discovered he prefers air-conditioning to humidity. May 26 pictures A big day. Outing in Old Town, first trip to Austin Grill, then to Takoma Park to see Christina and meet Theodore (b. Jan 25) who were in town from Miami. May 20 pictures Baby shower at Carrie's. All the girls get to hang with Alex - Carrie, Rose, Barb, Vicky, Margaret, Lynn, Debbie, Mo, Val, Pauline, Natalie - and Kathleen surprised us by flying in from Boston! Margaret made a beautiful cake, and Rose organized some fun games. Thanks for a great time and all the wonderful gifts.
