Alex field trip to Ile de la Jatte with his class to have a picnic and meet their pen pals from a school one town over.  I was the only parent and survived 25 French 3rd graders.  We were able to walk from Alex's school since the island is in the middle of the Seine at the end of our town Levallois-Perret.  The island is famous for Georges Seurat's painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of the Grande Jatte".
