I did not know there was Poilane bread in our local supermarket.  another reason to love France.

A typical January evening.  We cannot eat enough Galette des Rois, the Kings Cake with the "feve" inside (small ceramic token).  Each patisserie is different and we love to get a new one each night.  JD has been busy with work, all good, so we stopped by his office to snack and bother him while he was trying to have conference calls.

Bonne année 2018! Happy New Year 2018!

Alex was sick, so he stayed home, but JD, Vincent (who dressed himself) and I went across town to the 19th where our friends have a new restaurant bar, Cafe Bolivar.  We ran into several other friends from Levallois and the old Anjou, what fun.

Because of course I had 2 cameras...

We had champagne and a delicious meal of fois gras de canard, smoked salmon, beef tenderloin, scallops, brie, and chocolate cake.  And more champagne.  Then there was dancing, confetti canons (paillettes), hats, smoke machines, laser light projectors, and bracelets that light up. Sylvain always knows how to do things just right, tasteful, and not over the top.

Vincent turned to me and said "Mom, this is the best night of my life".
